The Department of Health and Human Services announced further distributions from its Provider Relief Fund. This funding will go to providers that participate in CHIP and Medicaid. Some providers have lost revenue due to COVID-19 and others have simply faced higher costs, both are valid reasons to apply.

This funding will be available to a number of different kinds of providers, including behavioral health providers, and those providing opioid treatment. HHS will be distributing around $15 billion to these providers that have not received previous payments from the Provider Relief Fund General Allocation. They also announced that they are allocating $10 Billion in Provider Relief Funds for Safety Net Hospitals. For more information on qualifying for this allocation see more details here.  The due date to apply for this distribution is June 15th.

The minimum disbursement will be 2% of the provider’s reported gross revenue from patient care. For more information on the more recent $15 billion distribution and the exact requirements, see the HHS page here.
